We are excited to announce, that for the first time ever, you can join your fellow SEIU Healthcare nurses across the province virtually in our Nursing Division’s Educational Webinar Series throughout November and December of 2020.

Today the Chief Medical Officer of Health issued Directive #5, which provides clear guidance that N-95 or superior protection masks, face shields and other equipment are to be provided to health care staff working on the front line in long-term care facilities or hospitals dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks, among other improvements.

During COVID 19, SEIU Healthcare has led the fight for our 60,000 healthcare members across Ontario. Our president Sharleen Stewart has brought our concerns to the government and is always discussing the issues our members face every day.

We want to update Hotel Dieu Shaver (HDS) members of the SEIU Healthcare clerical and service bargaining units about the status of pay equity at Niagara Health (NH) for SEIU Healthcare clerical and service bargaining unit members.

If you have not already been informed, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, The College of Nurses of Ontario experienced a “cybersecurity incident” where attackers hacked into important confidential information which may include full names, addresses, phone numbers, and even information regarding ongoing lawsuits by nurses.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, SEIU Healthcare, CUPE, and Unifor held a special event to support expanding pandemic pay to all healthcare workers.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the members at North York General Hospital organized a very successful rally to demand Pandemic Pay for all healthcare workers.

SEIU Healthcare condemns all forms of racism, hate and violence. We stand in support with all Black, Indigenous and racialized peoples who are feeling pain, fear, anger, and trauma due to the recent blatant acts of racism and racially-motivated police violence in the United States.
